The Maremma is also synonymous of high-quality products.
 Agriculture is one of the area’s greatest
resources, a deeply-rooted and solid tradition with a lively economic
fabric. In the Tuscan Maremma local products are readily distinguished for their
excellent quality, guaranteed by the conservation and valorisation of the area’s intrinsic genetic
resources. The Maremma district is an area of excellent
wines, many of which have been granted the denomination of controlled origin (DOC):
Monteregio di Massa Marittima, Montecucco, Bianco di
Pitigliano, Morellino di Scasano.
Its precious extra virgin olive oils and their origin are protected in the same way; Colli di Maremma and
Seggiano.
A strong tradition of restaurants, country inns and typical taverns continues to foster and renew
local culinary traditions and gastronomic specialties whose simple cuisine preserves their
genuine and age-old flavours.
